LISE SCHIFFER, LCSW
Welcome to my website. I'm so glad you're here!
As a solution-focused therapist, my job is to help you heal and to actualize your potential. I have 35 years of experience helping people change their lives. I believe therapy should promote tangible change, not just insight. A healthy relationship with yourself and others coupled with the ability to govern your behavior is key to happiness and well being. My approach is to listen deeply, conceptualize the issues, and give feedback. My style is interactive, cognitive, compassionate and, when necessary, challenging.
I have experience with many kinds of issues, but I specialize in addictions of all kinds, depression, anxiety, couples counseling, and personal growth.
For people who prefer not to travel or who live outside the Chicago area, I offer online video sessions through a HIPAA compliant website.. All you need is a computer and a private space. I set up the session and send you an email link to log on at the appointed time. It's that simple!
I have been in full time private practice since 1996. Prior to that, I worked as Director of Substance Abuse Services and Director of Lakeview Psychotherapy Services at the Counseling Center of Lakeview. I also served as the Associate Director of Sarah's Inn, an Oak Park based domestic violence agency.
I am a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and Columbia University School of Social Work. I completed a post graduate practicum in Client Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy.
$125 for 60 minutes. I accept BCBS PPO plans, Aetna, United, Medicare and Cigna.
I am located at 6900 N Campbell Ave. in Chicago, one block west of Western Ave. near Pratt. I am very close to Evanston, Lincolnwood, and Skokie.
